What the index is
The fadeCT index is a derived, aggregate 0-100 score of how bullish or bearish public Crypto Twitter posts read about the market overall, BTC, ETH and SOL. It is produced by our own classifier from a sample of public posts and published once a day.
- It is not X data. We publish our own derived numbers, not posts, post text or user data from X. X is not affiliated with and does not endorse fadeCT.
- It is not a trading signal. Labels like "fade the shorts" (score under 25) and "fade the longs" (score over 75) describe how one-sided the crowd reads. They are a contrarian framing for research and discussion, not instructions to trade.
- It can be wrong. Sampling, bots, sarcasm, classifier error and changes to what people post all affect the number. When our quality checks have not passed, the site marks the reading as an alpha / research reading.
- History is short. Live collection began on November 5, 2026. Do not read long-term conclusions into a short record.
Leaderboards
The Fade Board and Smart Money Board rank the historical accuracy of public, directional calls on BTC, ETH and SOL made by public X accounts, using an automated, published method. They are accuracy statistics about public posts, not a judgment of any person, their character, competence, honesty or finances. Playful titles are a joke about the format, not a statement about anyone. Boards may be marked preliminary or left empty when there is not enough evidence.
News and opinion
fadeCT News summarizes reporting from at least two linked sources per story. Facts and opinion are kept apart: anything labeled fadeCT take (opinion) is commentary, not news and not advice. We correct mistakes publicly in a visible corrections list.

fadeCT's owner and contributors may hold positions in assets discussed on this site. fadeCT does not accept payment to change a score, a ranking or a story. Any sponsored content would be clearly labeled.
